The latest news from Rise & Shine Centres

Rise & Shine Education is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and implementing measures based on Government and Ministry of Health advice.

Recent Government Announcements relating to Early Childhood Education

On 2 April 2020, the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package was announced, outlining additional support measures that are to be put in place for the Early Childhood sector.

While we are currently working through all of the available information, we wish to share the following with you;

· The new payment under the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package is a payment to support Child Care Services to remain open. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the sector has reported significant decreases in attendance and enrolments. These payments will ensure services can remain open, and families who need it can access education & care.

· The payments are made in lieu of any Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy.

· Services are to continue and prioritise care to essential workers, vulnerable and disadvantaged children

We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and the best way to communicate is by emailing us at

Families who have recently ended or made changes to their enrolment at Rise & Shine Kindergarten are encouraged to contact our Customer Support team via email to communicate what this package means for your family on an individual basis. We will also endeavour to reach out to all families at our earliest opportunity.

We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.

Our Carlton Centre turns 6

In March 2020, Rise & Shine Kindergarten Centre at Carlton turns 6 years old.

Rise & Shine Shine Kindergarten is a family-owned and operated business which was established to offer exceptional education and care services for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years that enable each child to develop and grow holistically.

Over the past 6 years, we have opened new Centres in Sylvania, Kogarah, Summer Hill, Rydalmere, and Maroochydore. We are proud to have established an extremely talented crew of Educators and management personnel, built strong relationships with local communities and in 2019 we opened a new local Head Office based in Beverly Park.

It’s been a privilege providing care and education for thousands of families over the past 6 years and we are looking forward to a brighter future.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing Carlton Crew. Since 2014 many of our crew members are still a part of our growing company as educators, leaders and valuable members of Rise & Shine.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey so far and happy birthday Carlton.

Rise & Shine Kindergarten Bushfire Charity Support Plan

We are so sad to see the devastation the Australian Bushfires is having on communities, wildlife and our firefighters.

Over the past few weeks, we have been working on a plan to find out how we can best provide long-term support, raise awareness and educate the children in our centres about the situation.

The effects of the Bushfire crisis is and will remain an on-going issue that Australians will be dealing with for months, if not years. We wanted to ensure that our approach assists those in need not just immediately, but in the difficult times ahead as well.

We have already begun several support initiatives and have been moved by the positive response from our staff, families and social media followers.

Based on discussions, feedback received through multiple avenues and a poll on Facebook, Rise & Shine Kindergarten have put together a support plan including the following initiatives:

1) Monetary Donation to the RFS

First and foremost, victims and communities need monetary donations. Based on the results of our recent Facebook poll, the overwhelming response was to support the RFS. Rise & Shine Kindergarten will donate $1 per new page like in January to this charity.

2) Monetary donation to Red Cross appeal

In our Facebook poll, we had several people vote for the Red Cross appeal to support. Whilst this charity organisation hasn’t received the most votes in the poll, we do feel it is such a great organisation to support and as a thank you to those who voted in our poll Rise & Shine Kindergarten will donate $1 on behalf of each person who voted for this charity in our poll.

3) Partnership with WIRES

We have received a lot of pleas to look at ways to support Wildlife who are suffering as a result of these fires. Rise & Shine Kindergarten will support this cause through an Annual Corporate Sponsorship.

4) Care packages through WIRES

As a way of including our children in this plan, our centres will become Virtual Carers of animals through WIRES. As a part of this package, we will receive monthly updates on animals and resources that we can share with our children.

5) Thank you gift to Firefighters

We will provide a gift to any Firefighters who have children enrolled at our centre as a token of appreciation for their work.

The details of this support plan may vary over the coming months to accommodate new challenges or circumstances that arise as a result of the bushfires, but our overall aim is to support in the best way we can and provide continuous support.

For more information about these initiatives or if you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions of additional ways we can support please reach out to us
